The finance unit of a global manufacturer was looking to sell term loan exposure with a challenged credit that was also not part of its core lending strategy. The lender had written down a large portion of the credit and was looking to recover some of its loss to generate earnings by year-end. Monroe was hired to move this term exposure at a price that would offer principal recovery for the lender.
Monroe Credit Advisors marketed the exposure to several credit opportunity funds that seek attractive yielding assets commensurate with higher risk credits. Monroe's capital markets team identified multiple interested parties and negotiated attractive pricing, terms and conditions for the lender.
