Electric Power Generation Company

ASSIGNMENT

A privately owned electric power generation company was seeking to recapitalize certain gas turbine power generation locations with a debt investor that could grow with the company and the private owner’s other ventures. While the Company has a history of positive earnings and cash flow as well as significant asset value, the deal was complicated by a challenging ownership structure as well as a consolidating financial format that included entities that would not be included in the collateral package. The Company partnered with Monroe Credit Advisors to help structure the transaction and then utilize its leverage finance expertise and relationships to raise a senior credit facility to help the company achieve its goals.

EXECUTION

Monroe Credit Advisors worked with the company to isolate the assets that would be included in the financing package as well as to effectively communicate the company’s business, cash flows and collateral position. Monroe ran a targeted placement process with banks and leading commercial finance companies that had experience in the energy space and could grow with the company. A number of competitive term sheets were presented and the Company was ultimately able to choose a lender that was able to help the company meet its financing objectives.
